January 2014 - Goal

 Saturday, January 4, 2014

Welcome back everyone to hopefully a fun and exciting 2014!  I am not usually a resolution setter, but I am a goal setter.  This year I have two big goals that I would like to accomplish in the upcoming year.  The first one is to finally get my long arm quilting business started.  The second one is to make a new "quilt" for my husband who has been patiently waiting for the past two years.  I would like to make it his "big" Christmas present for 2014.   Anyways, over the course of this year, I will be setting "smaller" goals so I can achieve both of these "larger" goals.  I am really excited because Shanna from Fiber of All Sorts and Melissa from Sew Bitter Sweet Designs are planning on hosting a second year long "Lovely Year of Finishes".

My goal for January is to make one of two small samples for a local quilt shop that is going to recommend me for customers who need a long arm quilter.

I will be using this tutorial by Vanessa from Lella Boutique, which I have used before.  You can see that post here.  It is a nice simple pattern that would make a great quilt sample.  I will be making it out of Sweetwater's Boo Crew fabric.  I want to quilt it with a new "pantograph" design that I have been practicing called "modern twist".

Happy Quilting!
